Promoting the Healthy Development of Children and Youth Promoting healthy development in children and youth necessitates a comprehensive approach to ensure all aspects of a child’s health are addressed. This chapter focuses on preventive and dental care, as well as emotional, behavioral and developmental issues in children and youth. Significantly more children in Ohio had at least one preventive care visit in 2008 compared to 2004. From 2004 to 2008, significantly fewer children in Ohio never had a dental visit. |
